Junior Elite 8 Representative Teams

Junior Elite 8 representative teams were selected from within the boundaries of the existing Elite 8 permits following the Queensland Junior State Championships in Townsville (25-27 August) – Cowboys from North and Central Queensland, Broncos from Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, and Titans from South West Queensland and South Queensland and Border Districts.

SWQ players will attend a Queensland Touch Football development camp on the Sunshine Coast in March 2018.

Congratulations to the following players selected in the Queensland Under 12 merit teams, the Under 14 Junior Broncos and Titans and the U16 Junior Titans representative teams.

12 Boys Merit Team: Blaise Prendergast, Matthew Moore, Macauley Nolan

Level 2 Referee Course – Toowoomba 5/08/2017

Click here to registerA Level 2 referee course will be delivered by Matt Prendergast at the Toowoomba Touch Clubhouse, on Saturday, 5/08/17, from 8am to 12pm. To register for this course, please click here and complete all of the mandatory fields which includes reading and agreeing to the terms and conditions contained in the National Membership & Participant Declaration. The course cost for participants is $40, which must be paid directly to SWQ Touch by the registration deadline. Registrations close on Wednesday, 2/08/17.

Prior to attending this course, participants MUST:
•    Possess Level 1 Referee Accreditation
•    Level 2 Referee Course Pre-Course Home Study Rules Quiz
•    ASC Community Officiating General Principles  (if not previously completed)

SWQ Coaching Forum

SWQ Touch and Queensland Touch invite you to a Coaching Forum to be presented by QTF High Performance and Pathways Manager Peter Bell

The Forum will be held from 9am to 12pm on Saturday, 15 July 2017 at the John “Cracker” McDonald Function Room, Toowoomba Sports Ground, 47 Arthur St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350. There is no cost to participants.

Foundation Referee Coaching Course

QTF will be holding a Foundation Referee Coaching Course in Toowoomba and Brisbane over the weekend of 27 to 29/05/16. Please note that participants must be minimum Level 4 referee accredited.

Partnership – Titans and QTF

The document below, which was released yesterday by Jamie O’Connor (CEO of Qld Touch Football), outlines the partnership arrangement that now exists between the Gold Coast Titans and Qld Touch Football: 

This announcement has been given extensive media coverage as you will see in the following links:     

As mentioned by Jamie, the flow-on effect of this arrangement will be particularly beneficial to members of the SWQ and SQBD regions through:  

  • Automatic membership for SWQ and SQBD players participating in the Titans Tri-Series (Juniors)
  • Developing coaches from SWQ and SQBD getting access to Titans NRL coaching and high performance staff
  • SWQ and SQBD teams (12s, 14s and 16s) participating in a Titans Touch Day prior to the Junior State Champs
  • Ash Taylor and Kane Elgey being appointed Titans Touch Football Ambassadors and as such, assisting in the development of junior participation  

In relation to the Titans Tri-Series this year, the dates and venues are as follows:   

  • Swans Junior Cup                  
  • Sunday, 24/04/16 (Toowoomba)  
  • Arthur Davis Cup                           
  • Sunday, 15/05/16 (Redlands)  
  • Gold Coast Junior Cup
  • Sunday, 19/06/16 (Southport)  

Please note that the Conditions of Entry, Team Nomination Form, etc, for the Swans Junior Cup will be released in the next couple of days.
