SWQ Coach & Manager Applications

SWQ Touch is now calling for applications for coaches and managers so those who are interested in applying for a position are to complete and return the form listed below by Friday, 23/09/16. The appointment details will then be posted on this website the following week.

SWQ Player Registration Process

Players wishing to be considered for selection are to register their interest via email to [email protected] by Friday, 23/09/16. When registering, please include the following information:

  • Full name
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Mobile number
  • Current affiliate – e.g. Toowoomba, Dalby, Ipswich, etc.
  • Selection division/s

NB. Only eligible players will be considered for selection, i.e. they MUST:

  • Play 7 games in the one division at an SWQ affiliated competition in either Season 1 or Season 2 immediately prior to the event;
  • Be fully financial with all affiliated bodies.

The divisions on offer at the 2017 NTL are as follows:

  • Mixed Open (no age restriction)
  • Men’s T League (born in or after 1997) – no age restriction for up to 6 players 
  • Women’s T League (born in or after 1997) – no age restriction for up to 6 players 
  • Women’s 27s (born in or before 1990)
  • Men’s 30s (born in or before 1987)
  • Senior Mixed (born in or before 1987)
  • Women’s 35s (born in or before 1982)
  • Men’s 40s (born in or before 1977)
  • Women’s 40s (born in or before 1977)
  • Women’s 45s (born in or before 1972)
  • Men’s 45s (born in or before 1972)
  • Men’s 50s (born in or before 1967)  
  • Men’s 55s (born in or before 1962)
  • Men’s 60s (born in or before 1957)             Social Division

The registrations received as at the close of business on 23/09/16 will determine which divisions proceed to the muster being held in Toowoomba on Sunday, 23/10/16, starting at 10am.

NB. Players who register for a division that does not proceed will have the opportunity to nominate for the Player Pool. Players who haven’t registered for selection WILL NOT be granted a release if they nominate for the Player Pool.  

SWQ Coach and Manager Appointments – 2015 Open & Senior State Champs

SWQ Touch is please to announce the following coach and manager appointments for the Open & Senior State Champs:

  • Open Men           Mark Leisemann (Coach)
  • Women’s 20s      Brenda Rackemann (Coach)
  • Women’s 27s      Jodie May (Coach)
  • Men’s 40s            Kev Flett (Coach); Meg O’Neill (Manager)
  • Men’s 50s            Graham Scott-Hunter (Coach)

Appointments to the following divisions will be announced early next week:

  • Open Women
  • Open Mixed
  • Men’s 20s
  • Women’s 35s

Details relating to musters / training runs will also be released next week.

SWQ Open Mixed Information – 2015 NTL

The SWQ Open Mixed team for this year’s NTL will be finalised at the training run that is being held at Kearney’s Spring (Toowoomba) this Sunday (18th) – commencing at 10am sharp. 

NB. A decision on whether this team will be nominated for the NTL will be made after this training run – based on the numbers in attendance. If it proceeds, the team details will be posted on this website next Monday (19th).

Local Sporting Champions Program

The Local Sporting Champions Program is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for young people (aged 12-18 years) towards the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms or equipment when competing, coaching or officiating at an official national sporting organisation (NSO) endorsed state, national or international sporting championships or a School Sport Australia state or national championships. NB. Applications can only be made by individuals – not teams.
